Mark first developed his technical experience working on live theatre productions throughout West Michigan. He began his career in 2006 while working on productions for his college and volunteering for the local community theatre on campus, more as a hobby. He then decided to pursue the arts full time and entered the free lance market as a theatrical electrician, scenic carpenter, and general technician. Here he learned the artistic side of lighting and production and honed his craft, painting memorable pictures for the stage.
Mark then transitioned his focus towards a wider range of live events and pushed himself to branch outside of being strictly a lighting technician/designer. He prides himself on being very well rounded in most aspects of live event production. Today, working on corporate meetings, galas, conventions, festivals, and many other events, Mark does a little bit of everything. His primary focuses still include lighting as well as graphics and media playback, system design, technical direction, CAD drawing/3D rendering, and project management. He believes strongly in having a full grasp on all parts of an event, as all the pieces are critical and must weave together to deliver the proper message and focus. This allows him to be a versatile asset on the job site, as he can fill in and lend a hand in many departments when needed and allows him to better communicate with the other professionals he works side-by-side with every day.
